Hey DIMD watchers, I want to pass on an experience
with Diamond product lately. I've worked for System
Integrators for the last 10 years and wrestled with
alot of Diamond and Supra cards. Of late an encouraging
trend seems to be afoot: Their drivers now WORK. This
has been a huge cloud hanging over Diamond for as long
as I can remember and has been a considerable impediment
to winning over the hearts and minds of those of us 'in
the trenches' (with the wrenches). We heavily push DIMD
product now, knowing that we can be reasonably sure that
that ornery drivers won't add to normal misery of a bleeding-
edge highly-configured workstation. Sorry about the run-on,
but we're stoked in the OEM PC industry on Diamond these days.
I'm glad the firmware/software side is strong and stable now
because the hardware has been top-notch for awhile now.
Long on DIMD, in fact they were my first stock purchase
(Tamara, you better not be reading this)GO DIMD!!!!!!!
That is all.

"Creative and Diamond corner the Voodoo 2 Market", that's the title of a new article on the Gamecenter site. Gives info on why Creative and Diamond seem to be only the manufacturers capable of actually obtaining chipsets.

Also, might call into questions as to WHEN Diamond will actually be able to get 12 meg boards to market.

gamecenter.com

Also, if your interested, there's some well thought positions being made on the Yahoo TDFX thread re the i740 vis a vis Voodoo 2.

I suggest you start with this post,

messages.yahoo.com@m2.yahoo.com

but be sure to got to message #1106, its a bit on the techie side, but this foolofkings is no fool, breaks things down beautifully. He also supports my position that the i740 is not intended to dominate the market, etc.
