Lucent, Nortel, Mitel, NEC, Alcatel, Ericcson, etc. all support TAPI 2.1 interfaces to their switches. TAPI 2.1 and 3.0 are the hot applications interfaces for CT.

TAPI has made it into call centers, and runs smoothly, and robustly. If you are having problems, it speaks more of the desktop APPS (or the TAPI service provider) than the TAPI layer itself.

Only the proprietary interfaces are better than TAPI in terms of features and robustness, and that is because they are tied closely to the switch architecture.
