NETZ had to respond some way without acknowledging the negative Wired piece. Since it seems the release of financials were not possible, there had to be some way of letting investors know the company was not down for the count, that it is still alive and kicking, notwithstanding what Wired, or others, might say. This was the upside to the release. Tightening your focus and perspective--hopefully not circling wagons--makes sense when major players are beginning to step onto the field. Reportedly, there's been so many phone calls into NETZ's system, no one person wanted to get bombarded. Therefore, attempts to reach the "spokesman" (the part of the press release that bothered me the most) get funneled into the general reception area, where it's like a sign in a pub reading (I read this on an ncti thread, and couldn't resist here): Free beer tomorrow. I don't think Mr. Burgess said to David and Matty: Don't call us because we're about to rip you off. Gainfully employed newborn fathers, more than not, have a sense of stability and direction in their life. I, too, have the feeling that he was a man of practical consideration. I am also concerned that Zulu representatives were not extensively quoted throughout the Wired portrayal. This still bothers me. Please remember, I--like many of you--don't have facts. I only attempt to pose scenarios of possibilities hoping to come near the mark by counterpoints and so on.
