the big oil companies like chevron will most likely not rise like the drillers and oil service companies the next couple of years. The oil field goes through stages.

Companies which perform seismic surveys etc. do well in the early stages, then the drilling comes in, after the drilling the large oil companies reap the benefits.

We are in the early stages of the oil upturn so it's still a while before the big boy stocks(ie. Chevron) will go significantly higher. Drilling and the service companies are thebetter places to be now.
