RE: Clueless in Cyberspace.

Dear Clueless,

>> Iomega touts [sic] its own horn more than any company I've seen since Presstek. <<

You must not see many companies. Iomega is criticized by shareholders for not promoting the company enough. This is the first time I've seen ANYONE accuse them of over-promotion. Did you miss SyQuest's press release when they shipped 9,000 SparQ drives? Did you miss Imation's press release when they received a contract for 2,000 LS-120's? You need to get a new news feed.

>> said that it will never report its own sales of zip in increments of 1 million past the 10 million unit mark, but yet they have reported 11 million and 12 million <<

They made that announcement when they announced 11 million, but that they would announce on a quarterly basis and on significant milestones. 12 million was announced with the quarterly earnings statement.

>> They are in Koohotz [sic] with analysts <<

So why do analysts complain about not getting enough information, and why did the analysts miss their projections?

>> $100 million advertising campaign kicked off with 2 superbowl ads <<

You missed two. There were four.

And what does all this have to do with SyQuest?

Re: Defending Iomega

1) First of all, I bailed on my entire IOM position a couple weeks ago and established a bear position last week. I am resolved to simply trade both SYQT & IOM for the time being and I will play both sides as long as I think I can make a profit.

2) Second, I think the less we compare Syquest to Iomega the better. While some comparisons will certainly have to be made, for the most part due to size, financial situation, product offering, etc, they are not comparable companies.

3)Third, If you want to rock 'n roll with Iomegans, I suggest you pursue your argument on the Iomega thread.

4) Please lighten up a little. We may disagree, but in the end we're all investors simply trying our best to find a way to make some money, and IMO nothing we say on these threads is going to make the slightest bit of difference in the price of a stock.

I hope you make a fortune with your investments.

Regards - Dale
