After the EPS report, the glee was so great that I abandoned my short potion. I hid from the bulls if you like. I have come back at higher prices because my original analysis appears to have been on track.

CPQ has an inventory problem. Why this has occurred, I don't know. But I do know that they can be very difficult to over come without disappointing on the earnings front. That usually puts a dent in the stock price. CPQ's solution was to buy DEC, but the market may look through that.

Now for the $64,000 question? How many firms will reiterate their buy's on CPQ tomorrow saying that this is nothing to worry about and is only related to the DEC merger, That CPQ's problem is company specific and not indicative of and underlying trend in the industry and that buying the stocks is the best thing to do.
