Rick, If the core has been fresh drilled and shipped they do this to determine which parts are barren rock and which have gold and how much is there. This will give a profile of the hole and show where you apply the cutoff, say .35 grams per ton, the rock is then subjected to the test leach conditions and they see what leaches over time, knowing what the total amount is they can then say they get, say 75% after 3 months, 82% after 6 months and 91% after a year etc etc. If they did not do this they would have no way of knowing if they got 10% of the gold/silver out or 100% after the time period.
PFG must also know this, and should have asked for and gotten this data a few weeks after they sent the stuff in to Lakefield. If Barrick does not have it a simple request will get it for them and they can then give it to PFG.
