Seems like the Street's firing squads are running out of bullets on AMLN. J&J walked away today (no surprise) and the stock crashed (again). I happened to be mostly out last summer when they screwed up the pramlintide trials and this all began. Stock's now 2-and-change. What's interesting is that pramlintide will most likely be a successful Type I diabetes treatment in 2 or three years, and still has potential for Type II. SO:

1)I'd expect a large biotech or pharm to try to get it, perhaps by buying AMLN. If SMTG purchase is any indication, an AMLN buyout in the next several months could be significantly higher than current price.

2) If AMLN could get another partner in next few months, they could be back at 5 to 7.

All very speculative at this point. If they stay alive, I'd like to see what new mgt team is like.
