<C++ Builder 3.0 is the current version of their C++ product. Borland C++ is no more.
[SNIP]
debugger is in a whole different league, and it's implementation of the C++ standard is second to none.>

Not to mention it will also compile Delphi Object Pascal code!

And to me, Delphi is one of the innovative products ever introduced.
Its fast and reliable, and a million copies of Delphi sold is a powerful legacy to grow upon. (Announced last summer at BorCon)

In the past, I have waited for four hours for a large
Microsoft C (Version 6) project to compile. A similar project
in Delphi takes around two or three minutes. Its true. Yes the machine is twice as fast but its still outstanding. Plus
its elegant object oriented design leaves MS Basic in the dust, according to many.

Delphi was touted as a bug fix (!) for MS Basic 5 as recently
as last summer if you will review the msnews.basic.bugs news group.

We are all waiting for Delphi 4!

Go BORL!

I will take a closer look at the product documentation that is available for BCB 3.0. I think what they need to do is merge the two products: BC and BCB. Perhaps this is what they are doing and may explain the version jump from 1.0 to 3.0 with BCB. As you can tell, I was REALLY disappointed in the "latest and greatest" "bug fixed" version of Borland C++ Developers Suite. As far as I knew, this was still a current Borland product that this company has been using to compete in the marketplace. It looked like Borland was selling everyone on the idea on how the two work well together. I was not aware that Borland was discontinuing this product and in effect merging it into their BCB product.

Is there any PR on this merge of their two products? I could have easily missed this information. Still, I already have spent good $$ on version 1.0. This is why I am balking at the extra few hundred dollars for V3.0 even though they may have provided good value. I do not think I will be the only one thinking this. But V3.0 price to new users may be attractive enough.

Thank you.
