Ken do you have any rules or set patterns for stocks that lose or
gain 50% or more in one day? Seems like the 20% rules would not apply.


I play "over-reaction" type trades mostly the same although 50%ers do not happen frequently enough to reinforce any consistent patterns.

On 50% losers, I would look for an uptick at the open. I will buy on the uptick. Then I sell at the pause and look for a pullback to the low or lower to go long again. I don't like shorting 50% dumpers. I keep very close stop on these types of plays too.

On 50% gainers, I would short at the open on then cover at the first pause down no matter what as (depending on the market) they can easily run with a strong market and a strong story.
