Steve, Intel is big enough that if they insist they can actually drop prices below both companies costs and keep them there until AMD is gone. This would cost Intel a great deal. Intel has done one verygood thing to help AMD, the slot one has given a new life to other vendors, so much so that they are making a crippled pentium II because not enough people came over to the slot 1, as they see it's doomed.
Intel needs to be able to share the market to optimize profits. It is now tryying for total domination at graet expense and loss to it's SH.
