Very Interesting Tom C.

The plot is thickening. :-) I suppose its a good thing for us at this point that we are not in the commodity end of the market. ESDRAM can be employed with a DDR feature, SyncLink or the RDRAM interface. Now that they have the U.S. and other Patents for EDRAM we expect RMTR will create designs that use both and wait to see who wins the fight.

I was pleasantly surprised by the Siemens production announcement and would expect that there will be at least one more once the JDEC standard is announced, this week I think.

I have been hoping that someone would do the heavy lifting and take a slide rule to MG's '98 earnings projections. But alas I suppose I will have to find some time to do it my self. :-)

I just think he is assuring himself of erring on the low side so that he can revise upward at the appropriate moment, or not have to revise downward. By marketing at the high end and with minimal production, the round of price cuts by the box makers shouldn't be too bad for RMTR's margins. There would have to be similar drops in routers, hubs, DSPS and dedicated communications computers which I just don't see happening now, at least not in the high end parts that RMTR goes after. But there is only one way to find out....ugh.
