<<build Virtual PC into the system so it's a component rather than an application,>>

Perhaps that's what they have in mind. I remember the only way to read PC files was to use that clunky Apple File Transfer application. Then Dayna Systems came out with DOS Mounter which made it infinitely easier. The OS 7.5 integrated PC Exchange into it.

Sure it was a nice little arguement for the Mac back in 1993. But Apple would not be in the predicament it's in today if they had developed a Virtual PC type application back then.

SoftWindows was slow and expensive.

Maybe OS 8.5 will have Windows execution capabilities. Wouldn't Microsoft have a fit? Intel?

If Apple doesn't bundle VPC 2.0 with the new Macs, perhaps the resellers should give that a try and see if it stimulates sales.
