What bothers me about your thinking right now is there is a strange inconsistency to it. You speak of the One God, and assume you mean Allah (Father God of the Jews) The Great Spirit (Father God to the Sioux and others) and the Christian God, rather left without too much identity without His precious Son to explain Him. But if you do believe in any of the above, all the same, do you find it illogical that you reject entirely the Bible? Which most certainly speaks of satan and names him, over and over and over? It seem illogical. But, on to love they neighbor. Let's see, how to put this. I am not a moron. You are not a moron, and most certainly God in heaven is not a moron. Therefore, look to the Holy Spirit for what the scripture really means. Also, look at the Greek. VERY IMPORTANT. It most certainly did not mean that those living in the apartment next to Jeffrey Dahlmer, and I'm sure there was at least one Christian in that building, was to love and enjoy the company of his/her neighbor Jeffrey. Or to immediately forgive and embrace him as a child of God. Actually, he was a loathsome mutation formed by advanced demon possession, of the most advanced horrific nature, and Jeffrey apparently took great delight in it all.. To take the scripture without thought and without running it past the Holy Spirit is often dangerous. That was the justification the Pope used for burning the followers of Christ alive. On that I should say no more. No. God has a brain, and gave us a wee little one based on the same thought processes as the one He has. That, and only that, allows the scripture to be true "that we put on the mind of Christ". Without the interference of satan, we would have all turned into St. Francis by design. With the interference of satan, the only way to stop him was for God to send His own son, as it would have been rather difficult for God to come to earth, leave Heaven empty, and die a human death, leaving no God while God was in fact dying at the hands of man. In the first place, it is impossible. It is simply absurd. That is why He sent His son. That is why we love His Son! How can we believe anything this impossible to believe? Because we have all asked His Son into our hearts, and His Son has become quite utterly real through a divine miracle called the indwelling of the Holy Spirit. It does me good to have a place to discuss all this, so I can remember for myself how totally real it all is. Read the Holy Wars by John Bunyan. It is the nature of man/woman to find the wonder of God to be real, to rush out to tell the whole world, and then to slowly drift back to where they started like it all never happened. There is an entire book that warns about exactly that. But it still happens, even among those reading the book almost every day. I must now drift off to dreamland and think about these words I have just written you which are words the Lord is probably saying to me.
