it's funny, I think we all got a little
spoiled including me once the Usi offer came. I for one thought "oh great here comes the long awaited bidding war, finally we will get an offer, and it may approach $15/share."
Well, offer came and went and no one is offering any buyout. And to be honest I don't think we will see one anytime soon. No one seems to want Psinet. And I don't think we would see Mr. Kunkel, a high level executive, taking the time to soothe small time investors if the plans were to sell the company in the near future. I think Psinet is going to continue to focus on its global expansion, they will try to grow as much as they can, I don't think they will focus on profitibility at all, they will continue to give the age old reasoning that they must build first, they must grow first, they must grab market share and then worry about earnings. Well, that is all well and good for investors who have that type of patience, and for others who don't they should get out, as I will probably before May.

Psinet will be a global leader of some sort, I am sure of that. But since I don't work for Psinet, in all honesty I just don't care. I am an investor who wants to see a return on his money, so that is what I care about. Whether PSIX gets a suitor or not has become way too much of a longshot. If you want to play the ISP buyout game, grab some MSPG or CNCX, even as overvalued as they are they will find a buyer before PSIX does. I find it so strange that no one wants them, Merrill Lynch is going to have to auction off the pieces one day I guess.

regards,
cg
