March 4, 1998 Electronic Buyers' News via NewsEdge Corporation : Reports have surfaced that Intel Corp. may strike a deal to have its new i740 graphics processor manufactured on a foundry basis by Taiwan Semiconductor Manufacturing Co. Ltd. Hsinchu-based TSMC is already making Cyrix Corp.'s first batch of 6x86MX processors built on a 0.25-micron process. Separately, Singapore's Chartered Semiconductor Manufacturing Pte.
