You mush have come up with those facts in your DREAMS! You are obviously totally clueless about the semiconductor industry. On your fact 2 & 8...last year the percentage of laser based steppers or scanners was only about 15-25%. So even if the number of stepper/scanner sales decrease or stay even, the percentage of laser based systems will be 50% or more this year and 75% or more next year. This means continual growth in sales for Cymer. So you are a clueless moron!

On your fact 6, the new mask technology is mainly for laser based sytems not the i-line systems. No i-line system can get to 0.1um with a special mask.
On your fact 7, what companies??? Most companies my friends and I work at are buying the latest and greatest and want and neeed faster machines.

Why don't you goto another site and stop posting your dreams and lies.

Starbase,

FWIW here's my take on your "Facts for a Short" and IMHO only:

1. PE's aren't totally applicable for good tech stocks. I thought MSFT was too expensive when it went public and for every year since. Want to guess who didn't buy? Me. Techs are the only stocks with the ability to grow in relation to their high PE.

2. Small companies with the right products will grow at a much greater rate than industry.

3. CYMI said earnings would decline next quarter therefore that item should already be factored into the stockprice. Wallstreet doesn't like surprises. However, IF CYMI does better than announced deline shouldn't stock pop up?

4.Asian "crisis" isn't much of one when you look at the big picture of it's $ impact compared to the WORLD economy.

5. Don't hold credence in ANAL-ysts.

6. If CYMI's technology isn't needed in 98-99, then how come their revenues have grown so much and their hiring also?

7. Smaller-carved chip demand goes hand-in-hand with applications development. Voice applications getting popular which require more power, more speed and hence smaller circuitry.

8. Agree that a recession would hurt which is the reason you shouldn't go after high-flyers, ie. Dell. Invest on fundamentals but time purchases on technicals.

9. This board is anything but euphoria. You should have seen the Intel board on the Fool last year. I'm new here and very pleased with all the excellent technical commentary on this and other stocks.

Hope you continue sleeping well in Irvine.

By the way, I went to UCI in 75-76.

Gary

Starbase:

I hope your right about that call of 15 ... I really, really, want to buy more at that level ... as for your reasons ... I'm sure they all will be used to take stock away from the uniformed.

P.S. if it goes even lower that be great ... Keep up the good work ... spreading the half truths
