*AV*--Speaking of RAIN, my tight stop loss caused me to exit a few days ago. I was stopped out at 16 so it did get a good run for me. I am ready to play again when you feel the timing is right. PLSIA-I mentioned this a few days to a week ago, I think. The chart has developed into something nice but the technical research I have done is not all that flattering. He is a good example of what looks to be a good chart but the Due Diligence is coming up mediocre. 1. As we know, this is an extremely expensive system and Dentists do not readily fork over this type of money. We also know about the training that is required. This will not be re-hashed. 2. The dental laser process is a bit slower than the regular drill or air abrasion(abrasive) process for dental decay issues. While the time it takes to complete the task is not much longer, it does eat into the number of patients/day for the dentist. Furthermore, the dentists I have spoken with feel more comfortable with the older technologies. In addition to this, they beleive they have superior control over the older technologies and can do more controlled and detailed work with their present tooling systems. Finally, much more damage is done with the laser if an accident occurs or a slip occurs. They feel much more in control with the older tools. 3. This is not to say that PLSIA will not be successful selling systems but rather it will be to a specialized niche market. 4. The ADA approval means nothing to these dentists. From their own mouths, it is a "one hand washes the other" situation and enough above board, legal, and honest understandings and cooperation can get ADA approval. Also, the approval of these lasers for children is no great deal for these dentists. One dentist, a pediatric dentist, would never think of subjecting his patients to this laser and prefers the least painful approach of air abrasion. 5. As far as Whitening of teeth, each of these dentists are alpha or beta testing some real inexpensive whitening processes that they feel will eliminate any need for a costly laser to perfrom the same quality work. One of them has had great success with one such system. He is the pediatric dentist and his kids love the process (so do the parents) and it is far from being a scary procedure. 6. Finally, the opthalmic lasers. I have done enough work to determine what the laser does relative to the company PLSIA has acquired. Buit based on the inputs I received (and I am checking into the procedure for myself), those laser that perfrom radial keratotonomy(sp) are probably going to take second fiddle to the LASEX procedures that do not put slits in the cornea/lens (I forget which he said). The new procedure is roughly 15% cheaper, take less than 20 minutes to perform, and the healing starts almost immediately. They open the eye with the laser around the iris, I think, such that it "flaps" open. They then reshape the inner "stuff" and close you up again. Within hours your are watching movies with no pain and maybe a slight irritation relative to your eyes being dried out. I have seen the results since 4 people have had the procedure done. All had horror stories concerning the radial Keratonomy(sp) and people who had fogging and stars issues. To say the least, this one person 20/1000+ both eyes with a bad astigmatism has 20/15 and 20/30 post procedure. Therefore, with the laser purchase for opthalmic surgery, it is important to know what type of eye laser procedures will be performed. I will not publish this anywhere else and it is just my opinion based on some investigations. Sample population was MA, NY, CO, UT, and CA with just a few contacts in each state. I have also gotten some feedback from some om our cyber buddies here on Stock Swap. This is not meant as a flame or derogatory post. I just want to add some additional information to the DD being performed by others. My decision is not to venture into PLSIA at this time for some of the reasons given above and because it stands a chance of being manipulated. Too many newsletters, web sites, and "boiler-room" type cold calls telling me I have to be in this stock because it will run to 16 for a huge gain. Too much herd mentality and external factors. Look at BAAT and BNTI. People made money and people are losing money now. The cleverly positioned and timed trades did well. However, I think a number of people bought in way too late and were buying shares from large block MMs as a result of a set up. Andrew
