Jin -- I don't see how Ira could use 20 million shares as a basis for earnings.

According to Rob, the PR guy, FAMH had about 19.5 MM shares at the end of 1996 (before going public). The 20 MM starting point isn't debated; in fact, Cheryl used it in her initial post, based on what she knew at the time.

We later learned that FAMH was busy issuing shares in October via a 504 stock sale. Post #349, by John Fairbanks, covers that sale. As John put it, 5MM shares were sold, bringing the total up to 24 MM.

When Ira spoke, in a conference call, about shares being up to 28 MM, it was my impression that they went from 24 MM to 28 MM before the 4th quarter ended. If anyone has something more specific on this, perhaps a conversation with Ira (Brad?) I'm open to it.

Whether it was an average of 21 or 22 MM... it couldn't have been 20 MM.

I'm shocked Ira wouldn't realize that. Call me a naysayer, but at least I can count.

L.E.

P.S. When I called Rob, after the audit announcement, to ask how many shares earnings were based on, he said "I have no idea." You would think they would let him know... especially since I had asked him the exact same question a few weeks ago and he said he would find out.

Shares issued and outstanding: 19,130,620 as stated September 25, 1997 on thread header.

When I referred to the outstanding shares I rounded up to make it an even figure of apx 20 million.

Prior to September 1997 there could have been substantially fewer shares issued. I do not see how Little Engine can state, as if it were a fact, that the figure used for the eps is incorrect.

There were 504 shares that came into play probably October and November. After the 504 shares were issued, the total outstanding shares were apx 24 million.

From January to September 1997, for all I know there could have been only one million shares issued. I do not know how many outstanding shares were issued during that time span.
