Chris, you cannot tranlate archangel in the old testiment ever. archangel is a greek word. anointed cherub that covers is Hebrew. guarding angel is archangel. they are both the same thing. this isn't unual. when you compare two different lanuguages this happens of thousands of words. Anointed cherub that covers in the Hebrew is the greek word Archangel. It's like Christ(greek) = Jesus (english) I think what is throwing you is the word cherub. It eludes like baby angels on clouds playing harps. when in fact a cherub can be 20 feet tall and mighty enough to destory an entire world. question. can you find in the old testament where Jesus is "the Christ??????? no!!!! you can't Christ is greek shall i post the exact tanslation of the words.. look at Jude even the archangel Micheal didn't rebuke the devil. the greek word archaggelos = implied "chief" angel the Hebrew words anointed (mimshach= arched out wings) cherub (keruwb=invisible figure) that coverth (sakak= defending and guarding) I've had this archangel thing brought up in maybe 5 of my courses.
