i base amzn on myself..
i buy two to three books a week.. for 9 months of the year..
i read about 500-1500 pages a week.
i have not purchased 1 book from amazon.
i prefer to buy my books at either a discounter, a borders, or a barnes and noble...
my paperbacks either at a kiosk, or a Strand in NYC.. which is maybe once a year. STRAND is cool.
much of my reading is non-fiction, and lately pertains to programming and website design.
a year ago i did not know how to copy.
six months ago i could not get word files to work.
now i am ftp and building code by hand, as well as learning how to incorporate my ideas into reality thru the web.
every day i learn something new..
Amzn is not providing a service that is any faster/better than any book store.. basically they are like a book club..
except that you have aceess to better reviews..
you cannot go there and sip a cup of coffee and talk to others and get their opinions.
The convenience is @ amzn only for people in remote locations.. and how many of those people read ;o)
just kiddin'
