My thought exactly, Jas. I think there must be more to come. Or that people have the idea that "if this" then it means "that." I don't know, but I can't wait to find out.

Twoveg -- the short answer I believe is that there's not really much if anything out there by way of hardware-based metering system for PCs. I think there are some "dongle" products and there are certainly plenty of software-based payment systems, some of which have some sorts of metering capabilities (I think Portland Software is one). I've had this same question about competition (somewhere a long ways back on this thread Sprague actually responded to it -- worth trying to dig that up) and it's pretty hard to get a good handle on it because every system is different and it's hard to tell what's competing with what.

If you can get a copy of Wave's last annual report, there's a good section in there on what they see as their competition -- if I had time, I'd type in some quotes from that -- maybe later. But don't think -- like I used to -- that a system like CyberCash is a head-to-head competitor. They do different sorts of things. The bottom line is that the WaveMeter is a unique, patented system. I hope that helps. I think I've got that basically right. I really recommend the annual report for more detail on this question.

Anyone else out there correct me if I'm wrong about anything I've said.
