Bob / Iraq Attack You asked "If a fella wanted to bet that Iraq will obstruct the UNSCOM investigators and that the US will attack, can you suggest what companies or group of companies would see the biggest jump in stock price?" My opinion, the larger companies with a strong presence on an international basis will benefit the most. This would be a world supply problem stirring uneasiness because of the region involved. With that said, I want to also mention that the likelihood of this happening becomes less and less everyday. Here's why. Sadamm has played his last chip. This guy has a death grip on his country. His personal objective of absolute power control over his subjects would come to an end with violation of this new agreement. He has got to be keenly aware of that fact. Now, that doesn't mean he will stop attempting to build his mass destruction arsenal. Let's say he continues to do just that. When and if these items are found and disclosed, he will probably plead ignorance and total unawareness that such was occurring. He will probably murder off all known connections to the situation, claim innocence and our international community will desire to give him the benefit of the doubt. The U.S. and England will claim BS. Russia will take position of no retaliation under any circumstances. Our peace fraction of the community will say don't lose life over the situation, after all -- it's not our country. The extremists will label the US as racists. Someone will step forward to negotiate a stiffer more definitive agreement with Iraq and, Sadamm will say the most harsh of all penalties will be paid if he catches anyone in his country secretly making mass destruction weapons. The world tentatively agrees and says he is great guy for taking these measures. Then, we all sit back, waiting for the next event to unfurl. He's playing a dangerous game. But after all, hasn't he been playing the same game all along. One has to wonder if the world will ever recognize him for what he truly is. One last point. Keep in mind, a spike in oil prices resulting from conflict - would only be a temporary situation.
