Doug -
Fleckenstein????

John <gggg>

PS - I'm feeling much better than an hour ago, CPQ is now only down 1/2, while Dell is up 7 1/2. Since I constantly rag on the disparity in market cap, soon I'll start up a pool where we can bet on how long it will take Dell to reach DOUBLE CPQ's market cap. Any takers???

Windseye ... 28-29

IM"H"O - If there is an announcement soon the stock
will rise on clarification. At this rate and resistance
at 29, ... well ... just a guess.

If I'm correct - I was lucky. If wrong I'll stand up to
my mistake. Where are those other who predicted an upswing?...

Rowboat? Look grim? You have rowboat? There aren't that many
if I remember correctly. You must be one of the lucky ones.
Any room for me? ... Just in case.

Loki

There is a reason for the downward trend: In fact several reasons:

Top 10 Reasons why CPQ is going down:
(1) DEC is expected to show a crappy quarter according to the rumour mill (I)
(2) CFO Mason came across negative recently (yesterday?) by saying that there is stiff price competition and asia sales are slower;
(3) DEC deal raises a ton of questions which cannot be answered at this time;
(4) Rumour is that some of DEC's customers are switching to whomever;
(5) Profit margins are eroding as a result of price reductions;
(6) CPQ is rumoured to have excess inventory that they don't know what to do with (hence channel stuffing rumours);
(7) CPQ is having a difficult time revamping their distribution system;
(8) Monica Lewinsky signed a promotional contract with Dell computer. Under the agreement Monica will do a tv ad during which she straddles a dell computer in a bikini on a beach somewhere sunny and says "there's only one hard drive for me and it's not a compaq"
(9) CPQ's lawyers informed cpq management that cpq has no defamation case against dell resulting from the dell Monica ad since truth is an absolute defense."
(10) Vernon Jordan told Monica that after she's completed her dell ad he could get her a job at cpq.

Windseye ... Titanic just hit the iceberg !!!...

Any room in that lifeboat?

Well 28 - 29 now looks very optimistic.
Although I expected some earnings disappointments
this was a surprise from INTC.

Hold on tight.

Loki

There go my INTC gains !!!!
