Some more on the DEC downgrade by Goldman yesterday...

Digital Equipment lost 1 to 54 1/8 on the Big Board. Goldman Sachs & Co.
analyst Laura Conigliaro downgraded her rating on Digital Equipment to
"market perform" from "market outperform." In a research note, Ms.
Conigliaro said she cut her earnings estimate for the company's fiscal third
quarter to 43 cents a share from 48 cents. The third quarter ends in March.
The cut dropped her earnings estimate for the year to $2.20 from $2.25 a
share. Ms. Conigliaro's note acknowledged that the ratings change was
insignificant given the upcoming $9.6 billion merger between Digital and
Compaq Computer. But she argued that it reflects her belief that the
"underlying business may be experiencing softness."
