At least SEG will recover, someday. Do you still hold a position in
that dead-dog-with-maggots APM? I really believe that flash-in-the-
pan is doomed in the long run.

Seagate's removable hard drives??????????????????????

If he is not already, this is one of the things Al should be thinking about.

According to an article in Popular Science, Seagate and Syed Iftakar recently founded Castlewood Systems. Castlewood is touting a new high-performance removable media drive called ORB, using a 2.16 GB cartridge in a 3 1/2" drive.

This appears to be a leading edge product with a tremendous market potential, judging from the success of Iomega. Sounds like a great product to be incorporated in future PCs by the OEMs.

Does anybody know what Seagate's involvement is with Castlewood, if any, and whether they plan to produce and/or market this drive?

I know Iftakar was one of the original founders of Seagate; maybe the Popular Science writer was just confused.
