Yes, that is quite correct. If you read back you'll see I was looking for streaming real time quotes on the Mac. I am aware that Interquote offers "clicking" updates for real time quotes without special Mac software, but I already have "clicking" updates for my real time quotes, without special Mac software from quote.com and find it is delayed sometimes as much as a minute or two, in comparison to streaming quotes.

My friend uses Interquote on the PC and uses streaming there as well as elsewhere, and we were comparing the quotes on the phone when I was trying to buy a stock. That proved to me that clicking to update real time quotes is delayed in comparison to streaming updates.

I am looking for streaming quotes on the Mac, and he felt that the proprietary software I'd have to use, from LinnSoft, was not good software. He looks for specific indicators and that software does not provide them. Instead they provide other information which is cluttered, in his view, and can't be customized to what he wants. Of course, he has not seen the Mac version but is assuming it is like the PC version. He wants stochastics, rsi and tic-by-tic info in 5 minute, 20 minute, 30 minute and 60 minute charts. He found the other information provided was jerky and slow and not what he wanted to be seeing.

Since you use the software on the Mac, even if you're connected with the company, I'd love to hear what you feel it offers on the Mac, if it can give the above info, and if not, what it does give that you like.

I do feel it's very expensive. Most of the companies providing real time quotes don't charge for the software at all. They get the money back from their monthly fees. In this case, a third party is involved because Interquote only provides PC software to their customers and doesn't have their own Mac software for streaming quotes.

I didn't get disconnected from the PCWeek radio server this time (in contrast with various servers during Job's performance at MacWorld). If this was the general experience, might we read into this (and today's relatively flat trading) that there was less anxiety because people know AAPL's on a good track, it's ok to be patient, & they shouldn't expect miracles each performance.

(Of course, Seybold normally has a more limited audience and the radio sites could have added more servers.)

Just musing.
