To get out? If you get out, that means someone else is getting in.
That's how these markets work.

What if Intel announced incredible news at 4:15 today. (e.g., they found a trillion dollars that they had misplaced.) Then would you care if the shorts whined that they didn't have a chance to cover their shorts before the stock was at 110? No.

If Intel had made this announcement at 2PM, then trading would have been halted immediately anyway. Then, at 3PM or so, it would have opened up 10 points lower. This way, you get all night to think about
where it will open, rather than one hour.
