SCBA, I wouldn't predict a bottom, and that's the point of my posts. To characterize a stock as "overbought" or "oversold" connotes nothing, because you havre no objective way of assigning a value to the stock. If CPQ fell to about $15 I would buy. If you think the current price is too low, then I suggest you buy. Apparrently, current shareholders agree that the current price is about right. That's the function of a stockmarket.

I'm just not sanguine about Compaq's (the company, not the stock) short term outlook. The spate of articles showing Compaq holding excess inventories and significant inventories in the hands of resellers certainly bodes ill. Several people on the thread have commented about the potential for Compaq having inventory problems with it's BTO model, so none of this is a surprise to us. In particular, look at past posts by jbn3, Jim Kelley, and Meathead to get a flavor for the kinds of things we anticipated.
