I think that the job of Metastock indicators like MESA, % volume increase etc. is to scan through your data file and find the charts that fit into you pre-defined category.That save you some time for going through the whole data file every day to find candidates. After the program produce a list of stocks for you, you need to go through a big multiple choice test - to pick the ones that are promising and filter out the ones that seem useless. That's the key part in the selecting process, which the computer programs can not do(as least so far). Then you need to work out your trading plan, when your should buy, sell, hold or wait etc. See, we should still be proud of our human brain.
