Hyping a stock because you believe in it is perfectly OK, slamming the stock after you finish selling is not a good thing.

That depends on what you refer to as slamming. Those who were hyping it have merely been stating their opinion on the stock based on the recent news, and usually in more subdued ways than when they were high on it. If these threads truly exist to exchange information and ideas, we should be prepared to accept them from either side of the fence. If you read through the posts, there are some who have hyped in the past that see it an obligation to let others know they have sold and why.

How come the stock dropped like a rock after the Wired article.

I think the point is that Wired dug deeper than anyone else did (as journalists usually do, that's why people buy newspapers and magazines).

In any case, it still comes back to "do your own DD". I, for one, wouldn't be buying anything based solely on recommendations here; I don't anyone here from Adam so will always try to check with alternate sources. Besides, doing your own DD might turn up something new that others haven't found.
