To All: Called my local Walgreen's pharmacy to get prices. Apparently "unit" can mean a count by 50,100,250 for the pharmacy tech. I think ADGI is using "unit=1". Then different mg doses make a difference in price. So here I am with my drug encyclopedia with some info to share:

Furosemide : Drug Class - Diuretic, antihypertensive

uses: a)lowers high blood pressure
b)Decreases fluid retention

how to take: tablet, liquid, or capsule

when to take: 1 dose daily after breakfast.

What drug does : Increases elimination of sodium and water from body. Decreased body fluid reduces blood pressure.

Time lapse before drug works: 1 hour to increase water loss. Requires 2-3 weeks to lower blood pressure.

Walgreen's quote : 100 count, 40mg, $8.99 (also available as 20mg and 80mg, so I picked the middle one.)

Methyldopa : drug class - Antihypertensive

uses : Reduces high blod pressure.

how to take : liquid or tablet

what drug does : Relaxes walls of small arteries to decrease blood pressure.

Time lapse before drug works : Continual use for 2-4 weeks may be necessary to determine affectiveness.

Wlagreen's quote: 100 count, 250mg, $11.99
100 count, 500mg, $19.99

Paracetamol - see Acetaminophen (take a guess what that is and you probably know the price, too)

*** The only reason why I think the prices above would only approximate, is because it depends on how hard it is to get those drugs in Mali, and what is their current price in Mali after converting their currency to ours. There may be more profit potential because of this. Again, just as in stocks, supply and demand rule price. So maybe you can mark the price up by another 10%-20% to adjust for demand/currency rate.

<ONE MORE TIME.>
Correct me if I am wrong but I think I confirmed what you had said. I even copied a post stating that what you said was correct and admitted my mistake. SO I GOT IT THE FIRST TIME. Thanks for you recent contribution to this thread. It's good to have a doctor to lend expertise to the press releases. One question, why are you thinking about getting in?

Best of Luck
Chuck
