Clark....if you add up all the chips for PC's, Networks, modems, printers, servers, etc...I suspect that it will add up to above 50%.

Plus the chips used in TV's, cars, copiers, etc are generally low tech chips that are probably manufactured on old gear at .5 to .8 micron. So it doesn't present AMAT any great opportunities.

it has previously been posted to this thread that computers consume in excess of 40% of all chip prod... whether this was by number or value i cannot remember, but if you're interested just read back... or perhaps the poster... I think it was tito could repost... personally I'll just agree with dave that the situation sucks
