Nokia plunges on Intel warning

HELSINKI, March 5 (Reuters) - Shares in Finnish telecommunication equipment group Nokia fell sharply at the open on
Thursday in the wake of a profit-warning by Intel Corp (INTC - news), brokers said.

Nokia opened down 20 markka, or 3.7 percent, at 515 markka after closing at the equivalent of 533 markka in the U.S.

In 10 minutes some 80,000 shares were traded for a turnover of about 40 million markka.

At 0840 GMT the share inched up to 518 markka.

''It will trade between 515 and 520 markka until we see what happens on NASDAQ,'' one broker said.

Intel's profit warning came after markets closed on Wednesday.
