Barry Re "distribution channel shifts and adjustments vs. actual end-user demand"

We are all agreed that a massive change has come over the PC market,
much to our regret.

Is it too much to expect a "re-structuring announcement" by the
company to handle the new realities of the market?

And maybe a buy-back announcement?

Barry,

re: <<It is possible, however, given the introduction of the 100 MHz bus, price cuts and hopefully Win98.>>

I suppose the next shoe to drop will be the DOJ forcing MSFT to halt the release of Win98. :-(

What really bothers me about Intels statement is the combination of declining revenues AND shrinking margins. I really think this sucker is dead money for a while.

The timing of this news couldn't have been worse for those of us who have just converted warrants that had a long term tax cost basis. I'm tempted to get out but it's much harder justifying a sale at a 39% tax rate than 20% long term. I'll probably just watch the bloodbath from the sidelines tomorrow and be grateful that I'm not margined.

Regards, JB
