Indonnesian currency, etc. There are at least two aspects to the current situation. First, to the Indonesian Govt. gold must seem more and more valuable, as their currency plummets. Second, to outside investors they are getting a lot more bang for their buck,except in the case of imported mine equipment where they are dealing in constant dollars.

Still, local wages in gold mines can't be held down for long, otherwise there will be massive problems with security.

The political situation is potentially explosive. If an opposition party prevails in the next election will they want to re-write the rules on mining?
