Subject Concern about upgrading from a 333Mhz Intel Pentium II...
Organization U. S. INS

Here is my concern:

I buy a Dell 333 MHz Pentium II Intel processor-based computer.

Two months later a 400 MHz Intel something or the other comes out.

At this point in time, what assurance do I have that I can reasonably
assume that I will be able to upgade to a higher chip without replacing my entire motherboard?

Basically, what does Intel have in the works for its future family of
Microprocessors and what impact will this have on upgrading my Dell 333 MHz PC?

I am pending the purchase of a 333MHz Dell computer - but will not make a buying decision until I obtain some guidance on the above concern.

Intel is not going to produce or market a processor as an upgrade for
existing Pentium(R) II processor based systems.
