Loki...This clip from TSC kind of adds up.

When looking at the new earnings estimates compared with
last year's first quarter, it's like night and day. Last year,
Intel earned $1.10 a share. This year, it seems as if the
sub-$1,000 PC market, the Asian economic crisis and the
hard-nosed PC manufacturers have all conspired to knock
Intel for a loop. According to Mercury Research, a
Scottsdale, Ariz.-based tech research firm, Intel's chips are
used in 75% of the cheaper, sub-$1,000 computers. If the
trend in the market is for lower PC prices, that's going to
affect any company's margins, even one headed by Andy
Grove.
