The Wall Street Journal Names Keane Best 10-Year Performer

PR Newswire, Friday, March 06, 1998 at 09:15

Keane Leads More Than 1,000 Corporations on Shareholder Scoreboard

BOSTON, March 6 /PRNewswire/ -- Keane, Inc. (AMEX:KEA), leading software
services and outsourcing firm, was named by The Wall Street Journal on
February 26, 1998 as the Best 10-Year Performer stock on their Shareholder
Scoreboard.

Among the 1,000 corporations listed on the Shareholder Scoreboard, Keane
was chosen as Best 10-Year Performer based on an average compound total return
of 65.8 percent a year during the past 10 years. An investor who put $1,000
into Keane at the end of 1987 would have seen its value grow to nearly
$157,000 at the end of 1997.

In addition, Newsweek Magazine and the Boston Herald have also recognized
Keane's outstanding performance in recent publications.
"Keane's strategy of leveraging world-class methodologies, project
management disciplines and meaningful performance metrics to help our clients
achieve dramatic IT productivity and process improvements is working," said
John F. Keane, company CEO. "The demand for Keane's software services has
never been stronger, and our client successes have enabled us to grow
continually over the last 10 years."

The spectacular performance of Keane stock can be attributed to the
company's phenomenal growth in the last several years due in part to Keane's
year 2000 and application management outsourcing businesses. Revenues for
1997 were $654 million, up 40 percent from 1996, and net income for 1997 was
$46 million, up 81 percent from a year ago.

Keane, Inc. is a $650 million application development, outsourcing and
integration services firm headquartered in Boston, Massachusetts. Keane helps
Fortune 1000 corporations, government agencies and healthcare institutions
achieve their business objectives by developing, maintaining and applying
information technology. Keane's services, delivered through a North American
network of 40 branch offices, include application development, application
management outsourcing, year 2000 compliance, and help desk outsourcing.
