Compliments and Opinion. I've taken the liberty to lift the following from AOL's NETZ forum (He even brings in Einstein's theory of gravitation in his last sentence--something we should consider): Subject: Wall street journal Date: Mon, Mar 2, 1998 22:04 EST From: Grocgreen Message-id: <19980303030400.WAA28671@ladder02.news.aol.com> I don't know if this is old news, but I found an interesting article in the Feb 19, 1998 issue of the Wall Street Journal. It's on page B1. I don't have a scanner so I'll summerize it. They are interviewing Mary Modahl who works for a company called Forrester Reasearch. This company is hired at subscription cost of $20,000.00 per year and $7,000 - 10,000 per diem for "in person" consulting. They help companies sort out the wheat from the chaf when investing in companies and also to figure out what technologies will survive the test of time. It's quotes AOL saying that they has used this company to "shape it's strategies". Plus lists many more companies (Time warner,Johnson & Johnson etc.) that to use their service. The interesting paragraph is as follows: When Ms. Modahl pegs a company as an up-and-comer, "its like the good housekeeping seal of approval," says Bill Helman, a partner with Boston based venture capital firm GRAYLOCK. Last year, Ms. Modahl met with Graylock and talked up DOUBLECLICK INC., a New York firm that creates and places Internet advertising, which was interested in breaking off from parent Bozell, Jacobs, Kenyon & Eckhardt. "She said that Doubleclick would fit into the world of the next 10 years" and was well positioned to provide Internet advertising services, recalls Mr. Helman.......Ms Modal's excitement about the firm, says Helman, "was key to our analytical process." Me again, what struck me is that if this woman thinks DBCL is going to make it through the fire and be a player, then netmaster should be right there also! Comments? P.S. I read the wired news. Question? Who is "wired news" or is it "wierd news?' Last night I read posting in SI for hours, there are some very interesting, factual postings. After reading them I believe this company is for real. It is also funny to me how fast people change their attitude from "the sky's the limit" and start pissing and moaning about one down day. Hang tuff, nothing goes straight up!
