Michael - Re: "If AMD drops 20% in sympathy and investors/lendors get nervous, it'll completely screw up their plans to raise cash for R&D and capital spending. Jerry may have to sell the company Rolls, fire the chauffeur and move out of his office suite just to make payroll."

You have reached an important conclusion.

The financial squeeze that AMD will experience due to their poor yields and sales, and their need to raise capital , will have long term debilitating effects on AMD.

Intel is in a crunch due to current market conditions. They have $9 or $10 billion in the bank to weather the storm.

AMD is caught up in a tidal wave that could drown them.
