Thanks for the info, obviously I don't watch Intel's model but being a
box builder I'm affected by what they do. By pre announcing price reductions they have delayed purchases by end users and box builders. We don't carry any more processors than we absolutely have to.
As to the issue of price protection these guys have this big pile of money called the advertising budget, I'm sure people like Dell, GTW etc are well taken care of.
One of my technicians bid a system against Dell today and Dell had a short term special going for an upgrade to a PII that cost $50., it would have cost us $200. ( price wasn't everything, we got the bid )
