Robert, stock looks real good today, barely a budge ( according to older NN standards, gg ); I got all ready to sell this AM at the open but I quickly pulled back. Sold a small IRA amount at 24 which I immediately bought back at 23 3/8.
I reviewed previous posts on the competition. Of course Cisco/Stratacom are the big one. However, my understanding is that Stata's ATMs are small and not likely to get bought heavily by Telcos. If Cisco gets their big ATMs from Alcatel I may decline to roll
over and play dead. ALA has their hands IN ALL sorts of things. It is owned by the state and about to go private I believe. To produce the quality of NNs big ATMs you need to be focused. Furthermore how come France's national telephone service is getting their ATMs from NN/Siemens?
My feeling is that NN will literally dominate for years Europe,Asia, SAmerica,Canada, Austr?NZealand. In the USA the there will be a fight for the pie between Cisco/Stratacom, NN/3-Com/Siemens and Ascend/Cascade Comm. NT/Fore may also share some. I don't think the Reg Bell Cos will go with one vendor and they will use several to see which one works best and to avoid dependency on one supplier.Ultimately however when it comes to ATM backbone building NNs technology will be focused and will stand out as the best, all IMO,
