I know this will be unpopular to say, but if you are unhappy with Datek then my suggestion is to take you money and try another broker. As they say money talks, which is the ultimate in expressing customer satisfaction and in the end the only true method for any company to get true realization of poor customer service.

As far as online brokers, I started with Discover and was badly treated last Oct.. I experimented with Ameritrade, Suretrade, Datek, and Waterhouse to find a broker that I was satisfied with. I ended sticking with Datek and Waterhouse, both of which I am very satisfied with. Online brokers are a new industry and the growth is going to cause serious growing pains. It is no different than the bleeding edge of any technology.

If you want no issues then stop using online brokers. If you want to trade like you are on the floor of an exchange, then pony up for the systems that specialize in that. If you want a compromise then stay with an online broker, but accept the fact that you need to find a broker that satisfies your level of tolerance. But also accept the fact that there will be problems.

Sorry for the soapbox, but I have gotten tired of the constant complaining. I do not want to lose Datek's link to this board, it is nice forum for timely public two way communication.
