gda, ALTR is the only one of these three that even comes close to VTSS

XLNX has no revenue growth and earnings at around 20% fundamentally this supports a P/S ratio of about 3 in a good market

LSI has about 15% growth and 10-14% earnings this also only supports a P/S ratio of 2 to 3

ALTR has about 40% growth and 23% earnings ( this is getting close to VTSS) ALTR supports a P/S of at least 6 to 8.

As for the Gross Margin Pressure I'll need to check out what your saying, for me the most serious problem with VTSS would be that of shrinking New product gross margins. If I find that this is happening I'll drop them like a hot Potato.

Anyway, I appreciate your involvement and honest feedback.

Slob

Questions
To: slob and gda

Is Rockwell in this business? I read in Electronic News about their SONET/SDH parts for 2.5GBit rates. Are they any competition?

Can you define the speeds of the following standards?
OC-12
OC-48
OC-192

Can you tell me the market growth in each of these standards for VTSS?

I know its a lot to ask, but you two are the ones who could help.
