For those of you who don't follow the Nextel thread on Yahoo, here is a post from Arnie regarding the insane WSJ article today. Hope you don't mind Arnie.

It was my only chuckle today.

<<<I like Tom Lee. In fact, I nominate him for Man of the Year. We need more
analysts like him. Why? Several reasons: First, we can explain why he is wrong;
second, we are forced to rethink our own positions; third, NXTL will pop like a
pimple when Tom Lee is forced by fundos to change his mind, and, fifth,
because I said so. (That's what my dad always said so I thought I'd throw that
in.) :-)

Yes, indeedy, Tom Lee, the Man of the Year.

Arnie >>>>

Arnie, what happened to number four? LOL

wonderbread,

Does this Mr. Lee have his head in the sand? Does he not realize Nextel IS digital??

Not all digital system are created equal. CDMA is the most efficient, TDMA and GSM are less efficient. Where does Nextel's propriatory system fit? During a price war, your efficiency in use of the available spectrum will determine the winners and losers.

BTW, we are using Nextel now. With our usage, it costs us about $100 + taxes per user. With Bell Atlantic plan, our cost would be $40 per user + taxes.

Now tell me, why shouldn't I switch?

Joe
