I continue to follow the company, yet will not be investing any money in them at this time. There's just not too many good things to say about this company (besides the fact I like their bagels). For recent news on BGLSQ, go to www.infoseek.com and search on "manhattan bagel". I just found an article from there that indicated Comac (Canadian franchiser) has terminated their master franchise agreement with BGLSQ.

For reasons like that, I'm staying away. Good luck with making a decision.

I wrote this one off for a tax loss at the end of 1997. I don't feel there's any hope for this company. I have serious doubts that they will emerge from bankruptcy. Now that I'm out, though, your chances of seeing a price increase are much improved!

Here's some more news that recently came out about Manhattan Bagel. The largest franchisee of Manhattan Bagel stores, Bagel Brothers Companies, recently filed for bankruptcy and seeks to sever its relationship with Manhattan Bagel.

Not good, not good at all, IMO.
