I didn't expect swaps between INTC and LGND. I expected some to sell INTC and then wait for things to settle down. A rotation out of high and into Biotech could take days or weeks. I would not use this morning's volume as an indicator.

As far as LGND's notoriety is concerned, I agree that many still don't know about the stock. That is one of the reasons I started this thread and one of the reasons that I put up the Links to Ligand at home.att.net .

Although I don't know how many lurkers read this thread, I do know that the above site has had over 24,000 hits in just over a month. I was surprised at the number of hits by high tech companies as well as banks and analysts. I was also surprised at the volume. The volume is currently largely major pharmaceuticals.

Almost all pharmas visit, and the site is extremely popular with several. I suspect that many of the visitors knew little about LGND at the beginning of the year. I think that many were impressed with LGND's partners and pipeline. I can't say how many, if any, bought LGND. However, when the site went up, LGND was trading below $11 (heading for $10?) and now its closer to $20 than $10.

I expect LGND to continue to head north with or without high tech investors. However, I'm not sure that they haven't already started to participate (INTC is one of the high tech visitors to the web site).
