Baird,
I think, as someone else pointed out, that the land drillers will lag the deep driller until the oil prices are perceived to be heading up on a sustainable track. If that happens fairly soon I believe the land drillers will outperform the deep drillers. I also believe that this OPEC meeting might be the catalyst the land drillers are waiting for.

Baird, I don't think the market is counting on the rebound in oil price to fuel the current rally. Rather is it the speculation of more merger, linkup, buyout among the players (thus MDCO and ATW especially). The deepwater got the boost from the pending GOM leasesales IMO and as you are fully aware their strong fundamentals.

I would not worry about the non-participation of the land drillers.

Oil is $15.45 now. Stable.
