Today's Commentary: 03/05/98 (aice)- unclear!

Weakening demand for the personal computers, that is the report in the WSJ on the lowered revenue and profit expectations from Intel for the first quarter. Thus far, the effects on the memory markets are somewhat unclear. Pricing on 16 meg standard devices have moved slightly downward as specific configuration, pkg., mode, have moved slightly upward. 64 meg product, specifically 8MX8 EDO TSOP 3V 4K REF, has made adjustments downward getting closer to parity with 16 meg product. Intel CPU pricing in the open market has remained fairly stable at this period.

From a F/A perspective, I think we have reached Investing Nirvana -- earnings do not matter anymore. Liquidity and short-squeezes and the promise of future profitability, rule the day. We should have seen this coming. If loss-ridden stocks such as AMZN can levitate, why not our beloved Micron. <g>
